Deepa Soni

Deepa Soni served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Head of Technology, Data, Analytics & Cyber at The Hartford starting in October 2019. In March 2024, her responsibilities expanded to also include Operations, unifying critical customer-facing, technology, and operational functions under her leadership.

In March 2025, Deepa concluded her tenure at The Hartford to pursue an external opportunity, collaborating with her successors during the transition period.

Prior to entering the insurance industry, Deepa held senior technology leadership roles at top financial institutions, including U.S. CIO for BMO Financial Group, SVP & Head of Application Development at M&T Bank, and Head of Enterprise Architecture at KeyCorp.

A seasoned technologist with over two decades of experience, Deepa excels in digital transformation, agile delivery, cybersecurity, AI and data analytics, and process re-engineering. She also served as Executive Sponsor for the Women in Technology and Young Professionals Employee Resource Groups.

Deepa holds a B.S. in Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (India), an M.S. in Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology, and has completed executive programs at the University of Michigan and Wharton.
