Ross Coffman

Ross Coffman is the President of Forward Edge-AI, Inc., a company developing advanced cybersecurity solutions in support of national security and defense innovation.

He is a retired Lieutenant General of the U.S. Army, whose final active assignment was as Deputy Commanding General for Combat Development at U.S. Army Futures Command (2022–2024), where he shaped future force concepts and technologies.

‍

Before that, Coffman served as Director of the Next Generation Combat Vehicle Cross Functional Team (2018–2022), leading modernization efforts in ground autonomy and combat mobility. He also held the role of Deputy Commanding General (Maneuver) for the 1st Infantry Division, operating in Eastern Europe to enhance operational readiness.

Following his military career, he became a strategic advisor to Kodiak Robotics, leading their Defense Advisory Council in early 2025. Additionally, in mid-2025, he joined the Board of Directors at Edge Case, contributing his expertise at the intersection of safety and advanced technology.

Coffman served for more than 35 years as an Armor branch officer, deployed in diverse conflicts across Iraq, Bosnia, Haiti, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and throughout Europe
