Phil Wiser

Phil Wiser serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Paramount Global, where he leads the company’s global technology strategy, emphasizing AI-first initiatives and overseeing multiplatform operations.

He joined Paramount Global (formerly ViacomCBS) with a mandate to modernize its digital infrastructure, aligning technical capabilities to better support streaming growth and content distribution worldwide.

Previously, Wiser was the Chief Technology Officer at Hearst, where from 2012 he managed global technology and digital platforms, leading transformative initiatives across publishing and media assets.

‍

He also held the position of Executive Vice President and CTO at CBS Corporation, where he oversaw technology strategy for one of the largest television networks in the U.S.

Earlier in his career, Wiser co-founded Sezmi, a TV technology startup that blended internet and broadcast content and emphasized personalized viewing experiences. Wiser began his technology journey at Sony Corporation, where he served as CTO of Sony Corp. of America (2004–2006), contributing to the early development of digital media platforms and securing key multimedia partnerships.

Beyond his executive responsibilities, he sits on the Board of Trustees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and Sarah Lawrence College, and serves on the Board of Visitors for the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering.
